Guarantee:
All items sold by Deco-Noritake are guaranteed to be authentic, produced by the Noritake Company, and unless otherwise indicated, from the post-Nippon (1884-1921) - pre-WWII (1942) era. Occassionally, I will list an item for sale that is outside of this period, but the listing will clearly state the era, and if possible, include a picture of the relevant backstamp.

Most, but not all of the items I offer for sale are in excellent condition. Note - I do not like to use the word "mint". Not only do I feel that it is inappropriate to apply this term to porcelain (as it refers to coins fresh from the "Mint"), but unless an item is literally fresh from its original packaging, it cannot, by definition, be "mint". After all, most of the porcelain listed is over seventy years old, and a signs of wear should be expected.

Sometimes, I do run across a piece of Noritake that is, to the naked eye, "flawless." In other words, the gold trim (if any) is not worn or rubbed, the luster appears unscratched to the naked eye, and there is no damage to the body of the porcelain (e.g., no cracks, chips, flakes, hairlines, etc.). I feel that such pieces, by and large, are rare and desirable, and therefore, are priced somewhat higher than similar items which may reflect their age.

If there are flaws, either through age, usage, or factory origin, I will take care to note them. However, I am not perfect, and occassionally a flaw will not be noted. In those cases, I will refund payment in full, including shipping.(Back to top)

Shipping:
I ship all items US Postal Service, insured for the purchase price, not "book value". I do not charge for packing materials. If the item is damaged in shipment, I will work with you to file your claim with the post office. If you pay by check, shipping is usually ten business days from the first business day after I receive your payment. If you pay by money order, or by PayPal, I will ship on the next business day. If your check bounces, I will invoice you for my bank costs, and if you still want your items, I will require payment by secured means - PayPal, USPS Money Order, Certified Check.(Back to top)

Note to non-US Purchasers:
I will ship anywhere, but your payment must be in US funds, drawn on a US Bank, or by International Postal Money Order. Shipping to the United Kingdom and Japan is VERY EXPENSIVE, and I must pass the full cost of shipping through. I will not ship "surface". Also - if I need to complete customs declarations, I will NOT list the item as "gift", and you will need to pay all VAT and excise taxes.(Back to top)

A few more words on returns:
I do not sell on consignment or buyer's approval (unless specifically agreed to prior to completing the transaction). I take a lot of time and care to provide clear and detailed photographs, and expect that you, as a mature and responsible buyer, will take the time to look at the pictures and read the description completely. Unless there is a material difference (by "material" I mean undisclosed damage, different backstamp, or more than a fractional difference in size), I will not automatically provide a refund. If I do agree to a refund, the item must be returned first, postage pre-paid, and insured for the purchase price.(Back to top)
